The Boston Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, taking a 1-0 lead in the series.

Kristaps Porzingis returned from a calf injury for the Mavericks and led the team with 20 points. Luka Doncic added 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who scored 39 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 23 points and 7 assists.

The Celtics led by 21 points at halftime and held on to win by 18.
