Florida Panthers Shut Out Oilers in Game 1 of Stanley Cup Final

Rodrigues' Two Third-Period Goals Lead Panthers to 4-1 Victory

Bobrovsky Records Shutout as Florida Takes Series Lead

In Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final on Saturday, the Florida Panthers shocked the Edmonton Oilers with a dominant 4-1 victory at the Amerant Bank Arena.

Evan Rodrigues emerged as the hero for Florida, scoring twice in the third period to break open a close game. Niko Mikkola and Aaron Ekblad also found the back of the net for the Panthers, while goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky recorded a shutout, stopping all 30 shots he faced.

The Oilers, who had the league's best record during the regular season, struggled to generate offense against Bobrovsky and the Panthers' stingy defense. Connor McDavid, normally Edmonton's offensive catalyst, was held to just four shots on goal.

The best-of-seven series will now shift to Edmonton for Game 2 on Monday.
