Florida Panthers Take Game 1 of Stanley Cup Final
Edmonton Oilers Fall 3-0 in Series Opener
Bobrovsky Shuts Down Oilers Offense
The Florida Panthers got off to a flying start in the Stanley Cup Final, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 on Saturday night. Sergei Bobrovsky made 22 saves for the shutout, while Aleksander Barkov, Sam Reinhart, and Jonathan Huberdeau each scored goals for the Panthers.
The Oilers had a few good chances to score, but Bobrovsky was up to the task each time. The Panthers took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a goal by Barkov, and they never looked back. Reinhart made it 2-0 in the second period on a power play, and Huberdeau added an empty-net goal in the third period to seal the victory.
The Oilers will need to regroup quickly if they want to tie the series. Game 2 is scheduled for Monday night in Edmonton.
